Rural House La Gayria is situated in the centre of the island in the village of Tiscamanita in the municipality of Tuineje. The estate is approximately 5000 metres, and is located close to the natural monument, the basin La Gayria, which was declared a natural monument in 2005. The combined accommodation consists of three rural houses dating back to the 18th century which was originally a stately home that was built thanks to the economic boom coming from the exportation of cochineal in the Canaries (from which a natural red tint was extracted). In the year 2000 it was restored as a Rural Hotel which the new owners have converted into three rural houses where the guests can be in contact with agriculture, livestock, and nature in general. If guests wish they can take part in farm work, sample the fruit in season, gather the eggs from the hens, milk a goat and drink milk with the typical toasted maize.
